Samara Yung isn’t afraid to pave her own path. Her current album Steamroller encompasses Samara’s journey and where she is both musically and personally. A multiple SCMA award winner, Yung released Steamroller on May 26 2017 and was produced in part by Danick Dupelle (Emerson Drive) and Bart McKay (Brett Kissel). It featured the singles “Scared Enough” and “Fireproof”, which was co-written by GRAMMY Award winners Maren Morris and Emily Weisband.
Years of experience from her beginnings as a performer in her father’s band, Samara has roots that run deep into many genres of music. Music is truly a family affair for the Yungs; with her dad on bass, and her mom and husband waiting in the wings with their toddler Nova, music is not just a job – it’s a lifestyle.
Three previous projects have allowed her to explore who she is as a songwriter and singer with hits like “You Brought the Party” and “Mardis Gras” – and for that Samara is proud of her journey and where she is today. Her latest single “Swerve” is currently climbing the charts and is her highest charting single to date, receiving airplay right across Canada. Samara is set for a busy 2019 including shows at Dauphin’s Countryfest in Manitoba, Extreme Mudfest in Alberta, and at Raymore Summer Slam in her home province of Saskatchewan.
